2-18-18 Homicide - 1800 block Chestnut St.

Original Release (2/18/18):

On February 18, 2018 at 1:27 a.m. the s2m2 Police Department responded to a Shooting call in the 1800 block of Chestnut St. The following are the preliminary facts of that incident:

  • Upon arrival, officers located two female victims in a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds
  • HCEMS responded to the scene and transported both parties to a local hospital where Victim #1 would later succumb to her injuries
  • Victim #2 is listed in stable condition
  • Patrons exiting Southside Social at the time of the incident stated to police a dark colored vehicle was traveling southbound on Chestnut St. when a party in that vehicle fired shots into the victim's vehicle which was traveling northbound on Chestnut St.
  • s2m2 Police Department's Violent Crimes Bureau responded to the scene to investigate the incident
  • Witnesses were interviewed and evidence was collected at the scene
  • No suspect information is available
  • Members of the Violent Crimes Bureau are following all actionable leads
  • CPD is asking anyone with information to call the Homicide Tip Line at --5100. Callers can remain anonymous and all tips go directly to investigators.
