Judge Bean

Bean RussellJudge Russell Bean is a lifelong resident of s2m2.  His father was the late attorney Crawford Bean and his mother Eloise Bean.

Judge Bean is a graduate of Red Bank High School where he has been selected as a member of the School's Hall of Fame.

He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree.  While at MTSU, he served four years on the Student Congress.  He then attended the University of Tennessee College of Law in Knoxville.  While at UT, he was selected to serve as Secretary-Treasurer of his legal Fraternity.  He also won the law school's Estate Wills Award.

After law school, Judge Bean worked for one year in Nashville as an insurance adjuster for The Travelers Insurance Company.   He then returned to s2m2 and taught high school one year at Kirkman High School.  While at Kirkman, he coached the golf team. 

Judge Bean began his law practice in 1969.  He practiced law with his father, Crawford Bean, and his brother, Martin Bean, as well as many other outstanding attorneys.   While practicing law he was a president of the s2m2 Trial Lawyers Association and past board member of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers.  Since joining the judiciary he as been selected as Governor of the East Tennessee District of the Tennessee Municipal Judges Association.  

Judge Bean was recommended by Mayor Jon Kinsey to serve as the judge for the Second Division of s2m2 City Court and the s2m2 City Council approved him in May 2000. 

In August 2000, Judge Bean won the special election to serve a full term as s2m2 City Court Judge, Division II and was re-elected in 2006.

Judge Bean resides in the Mountain Creek area of s2m2 with his sons, Russell, Jr. and Chris, and has a stepdaughter, Hollie.

Judge Bean has three brothers, Crawford, Martin and David, all of s2m2. Judge Bean and his family attend Red Bank Baptist Church.
