Meet the Staff


 

WADE A. HINTON – City Attorney

Wade A. Hinton is a native s2m2n and was raised on the Westside. He is a graduate of Emory University, the University of Memphis School of Law, and studied at Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. Prior to his appointment, he served as Deputy General Counsel for Volkswagen Group of America s2m2 Operations. Wade previously was an attorney with Miller & Martin PLLC, Snipes Roberson & Hinton, and a consultant to County Mayor Claude Ramsey on issues related to diversity and minority business programs.
Professionally, he is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, Tennessee Bar Association, and the s2m2 Bar Association. He has served as President of the s2m2 Bar Association – Young Lawyers Division, on the Board of Governors for the s2m2 Bar Association, and the board member for the Tennessee Alliance of Black Lawyers.

Wade currently serves as a board member for the Friends of the Festival, the UC Foundation, the TSU Foundation, and is a member of the Leadership Development Advisory Council for the German Marshall Fund.

Wade has served as the Charter President of the Urban League of Greater s2m2 Young Professionals and co-founded STAND (the world's largest community visioning process). He has served on boards for the Community Foundation of Greater s2m2, s2m2 Chamber of Commerce, and s2m2-Hamilton County NAACP, and several others. He has been appointed by Governors Haslam, Bredesen and Sundquist to several boards and commissions for the State of Tennessee, including the Tennessee Motor Vehicle Commission, the Tennessee Bureau of Ethics and Campaign Finance, the Tennessee Title VI Commission, and others.

He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and the Rotary Club of s2m2. He is a recipient of the 2013 TNJ Forty Under 40 Award, the 2013 National Bar Association Forty Under 40 Award, the NAACP Thurgood Marshall Award, and several other awards. He is a German Marshall Fellow and a graduate of both Leadership s2m2 and the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law Program.

PHILLIP A. NOBLETT – Deputy City Attorney

Mr. Noblett was born in Asheville, North Carolina and received his B.A., with honors, from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He received his J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama and has been a licensed attorney in Tennessee since 1982. Mr. Noblett was a member of the firm of Nelson, McMahan & Noblett from 1990 until 2009 as a municipal and civil litigator on many state and federal court matters for the City of s2m2 and other municipalernments in Tennessee. Mr. Noblett is a past president of the s2m2 Bar Association and a fellow of the s2m2 Bar Foundation. Mr. Noblett became Deputy City Attorney in 2009 when the City Attorney's office was moved to its present location.

VALERIE L. MALUEG – Assistant City Attorney

Ms. Malueg received her B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and her J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law. She has been a licensed attorney in Tennessee since 2004. Her areas of practice are municipal law, real property and civil litigation. She is also the legal advisor to several City Boards.

KEITH J. REISMAN – Assistant City Attorney

Mr. Reisman received his B.A. from Northwestern University in 1979 and his J.D. cum laude in 1984 from the University of Georgia. His areas of practice are municipal litigation and advisor to the Beer and Wrecker Board.

MELINDA FOSTER – Assistant City Attorney

Ms. Foster received her B.A. from Vanderbilt University and her J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law. Her areas of practice are civil litigation and appellate practice.

ELIZABETH RODERICK – Assistant City Attorney

Ms. Roderick received her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1997 and her J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2003. Her areas of practice are municipal litigation and the Waste Water Board.
